I have picked up the details of the rally in the Examiner today (thursday 22nd Oct) however upon visiting your site there is no clear information as to the route the rally is taking and the times/days it will be in each town. Could this be rectified in time for the rally on Sunday. As it stands at the moment I have no idea where to go and watch the cars.

Hi there

Just recently arrived in Tassie and while unpacking I came across the Dealer's Manual for Ford Model T that I have had for years.
Is there a club that I can take it to so people who are interested in these cars can have a look at it ?
The manual is of value to me only as an old book, but I thought it would be nice to share the contents with those who care about the content.

Cheers
Geoff

Att..Greg Hyland..re...Parsons Gt Cortina

The Cortina is a tribute car not the genuine old GT restored.
Graham traded the original GT in Hobart when he finnished racing it. It was then rallied by Ross Farmer (dec) and then went thru more owners to eventually disappear. Searches for it have proved fruitless.
It had a chequered career with Graham, suffered at least 2 rollovers and several mediocre shunts. I grew up with Graham in the Sth Spreyton / Lwr Barrington districts. Graham has kindly loaned his Logbooks for display with the tribute car. His test track after doing mods / rebuilds to the car was up the Don Hill near where he now lives and if he had to brake for the top corner then it was going ok..if not back to the garage.

I'm curious about the locations of the motorcycle photos?
I would like to know what area of St Leonards, the hill climb was conducted?
Where the Valleyfield air strip is now, i've been for a look but can't work out its location? (wouldn't it be great to hear & see the bike there again!)
and finally, Corra Lynne?
thanks for a great website

Ahhh!! Brings back memories. I would have been in my early teens when Dad used to take us to Longford. We normally went to Newry Corner to watch them come across LongBridge and around Newry. I can remember walking all the way down the Flying Mile once. No safety barriers then. I noticed one of the photos with a Police Officer on Mountford Corner, "controlling traffic". There is a Devonport man who has restored Graham Parsons old Cortina. Some say it's not genuine, but it is dedicated to the 'wild man' of Longford and Symmons Plains. Great collection. Thank you
