To add to my last message, I live in Idaho, USA and Peerless built their cars in Cleveland, Ohio, USA.

Good Day,
I am a member of the Peerless Motor Car Club, for people who are interested in, or own, cars & trucks built by the Peerless Motor Car Co between 1900-1931. I spend many hours searching for Peerlesses that remain -- and have created a computer database of those vehicles.

Yesterday I discovered a photo of a 1926 Peerless in a Google image search. It appeared to be a 5-passengr Touring Phaeton, photographed at the 1993 world rally, Tasmania. It was green with black fenders, had a vintage license# 008 and was entry#154 in the event.

Are any of you familiar with the car? I am seeking more information for the club's records (Model, Ser.,#'s, Engine, Owner, History, etcetera).

Thank you for any help in this regard!

Sincerely, Jefferson M. Brown

P.S.: Peerlesses are quite rare. About 107,000 were built. One source informed me that only 35 cars remain, but with the discovery of this example, my Known Peerless Automobiles In Existence list has reached 300. Oddly enough, there seems to be a 1926 Peerless somewhere on the continent of Australia; a Model 6-80 Boat Tail Coupe.

Hi,
My son and I have enjoyed looking at the motorbike pics. Thank you very much for making public many fantastic photos. I am Reg Leslie's granddaughter and my son worships his great grandfather. So for us to see such a fantastic collection of photos was brilliant. I have only ever seen a handful of photos of my grandfather racing, but we have heard many many stories from both him and my Grand mother Gerrie.
In the collection on this site there is a brilliant one of my grandfather stuck in mud/water at Evandale; I have never seen this one in my grandmother's collection and I was wondering if it was at all possible to obtain a copy of this photo please. I know it will be treasured, not only by my son (who sleeps with his great grand father's cap) but also my grandmother. Thank you for considering this request and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Regards,

Sonja Hindrum

I have quite a collection of Longford images taken by my father. We went every year, and there is even a shot of me standing inside the tent whilst Coiln Chapman was disscussing with Graham Hill sitting in the Gold Leaf Lotus.

On another occassion my father was taking a photo of me standing with Jim Clark when over the PA system Jim was called to the starting area. Dad said you better go and Jim said " Don't worry take the photo as they won't start the race without me" When I was five Jim Redman sat me on his Honda and I said "I cannot reach the handlebars Dad"
I still have the programs and remeber the time there as if yesterday.

Hello, some years ago I bougt a 1910 Straker Squire open tourer red color. Engine nr 519 Gearbox nr: 520
On this car is a engraved plate with V.C.C.A. Straker Squire 1910 on it, made by Godfrey Engraving.
Is there anybody who knows this car???
I bought it in Belgium some years ago and the previous owner told me that it came from Australia.
Also I have a message that this car was on auction 18 july 1993 by Sotheby in Canberra ( lot number 185.)
Thanks and best regards Duco Ham The Neherlands.
